Fruits Crumble / Streusel – Serves 6 persons
Difficulty: Easy Cost: $
Preparation: 30 minutes
Cooking time: 45 minutes
INGREDIENTS:
4 oz butter
1 cup of all-purpose flour (optional: replace a tbsp. of regular flour with a tbsp. of nuts powder [i.e., almond])
½ cup of brown sugar
1 packet of vanilla sugar (i.e. Dr.Oetker)
1 tbsp of cinnamon
2 tbsp of dark Rhum, Cognac or other liquors (optional)
PREPARATION:
Arrange the fruits in an even layer in a 30-cm baker dish. Sprinkle the fruits with the liquor. To prepare the streusel, place the flour and the butter cut in small pieces in a bowl and mix using the fingers until large crumbs form. Stir in the sugar, vanilla sugar and cinnamon and continue to blend without breaking the crumbs. Sprinkle the crumble mixture/streusel on the top to cover entirely the fruits. Place the baker in a pre-heated oven and cook at 350°F for approximately 45 minutes depending on the type of fruits (the top should be brown and the juice should be bubbling up through the crumble). Serve warm or cold, alone or with ice cream.
